Custom-made springs

No standard spring that fits your application? Roveron develops and manufactures custom-made technical springs for a wide range of industrial applications. This can be based on a technical drawing, an existing sample, or a description of the spring's required function.

You can also come to us if not all dimensions, forces, or material specifications are known yet. Our specialists analyze the spring's function, the available space, the workload, and the conditions under which the spring will be used. This way, we work together to find a spring solution that perfectly matches your application.

A custom spring starts with the application

A good spring doesn't just start with a diameter, length, or wire thickness. What the spring actually needs to do within the final assembly is at least as important.

Does the spring need to push components apart, pull them together, or support a rotational movement? Will it only be loaded occasionally, or will it perform thousands of movements every day? And will the material be exposed to moisture, high temperatures, chemicals, or seawater?

All of these conditions affect the design, material, and expected lifespan of the spring. That is why we always look at the complete application first when receiving an inquiry. This means you don't need to have a fully detailed spring calculation ready yourself.

If you do already have a technical drawing, 3D file, or an existing sample, you can easily attach it directly.

Which custom springs do we manufacture?

Roveron manufactures various types of metal springs for industrial applications. Depending on the required movement and load, options include compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, wire springs, leaf springs, disc springs, or wave springs.

Compression springs provide resistance when compressed. Extension springs, on the other hand, extend when pulled and bring components back together. Torsion springs support rotational movement, while wire forms can be bent into diverse shapes for a specific function.

For applications involving high forces and limited installation space, disc springs may be suitable. Wave washers are typically used to eliminate play or to create a light preload. Garter springs and oil seal springs are often used as circular springs around a seal or other component.

Not sure which type best suits your design? Simply describe the movement, load, and available space. We will then help you find a suitable solution.

Have an existing spring replicated or modified

Do you already have a spring, but is it worn, damaged, or no longer available? We can investigate whether the spring can be replicated based on a sample.

It can also happen that an existing spring functions well in principle, but does not fully meet the requirements of your application. Perhaps the spring is too strong or too weak, does not fit properly within the available space, or does not last as long as desired.

In that case, we examine the current design and the desired improvements. Depending on the application, adjustments can be made to the length, diameter, wire thickness, force, mounting method, or material selection, for example.

A sample spring alone does not always reveal how the original spring was calculated. Therefore, in addition to the sample, we appreciate receiving information about its function, load, and the conditions under which the spring is used.

From initial request to production

Upon receiving your inquiry, we first assess whether sufficient information is available. If any data is missing, we will contact you to discuss the application in more detail.

Next, we evaluate which design, material, and production process align with the technical requirements. In doing so, we take into account factors such as available space, required force, spring travel, load, frequency of use, and environmental conditions.

Where necessary, we fine-tune the design together before production begins. This can apply to a single prototype, a small series, or recurring production of larger quantities.

The goal is not just to manufacture a spring that fits dimensionally. The spring must also function reliably within the complete application.

Materials for custom springs

The right material depends on more than just the required force. Corrosion, temperature, weight, wear, and contact with other substances can also be determining factors.

Spring steel is strong and widely used for general industrial applications. Stainless spring steel is suitable when the spring is exposed to moisture or when corrosion resistance is important.

For more demanding or specific conditions, a special alloy may be required. Titanium, for example, combines a low weight with excellent corrosion resistance. Materials such as Inconel and Hastelloy can be applied when high temperatures or aggressive conditions play a role.

Our specialists will help you select a material that matches the application and the desired lifespan.

From prototype to large-scale production

Not every custom solution starts right away with large-scale production. For new applications, a prototype or small trial batch may be required first. This allows for testing whether the dimensions, force, and functionality align with the design.

Following a successful test, production can be scaled up to larger quantities or recurring deliveries. Therefore, please indicate in your inquiry whether it concerns an initial test, a one-off production run, or a recurring requirement.

Why choose custom springs from Roveron?

A custom spring needs to do more than just fit into the available space. The spring must deliver the correct force, be suitable for the load, and continue to function reliably under the conditions in which it is used.

At Roveron, we combine technical knowledge with extensive experience in various types of industrial springs, materials, and treatments. We think along with you from the very first inquiry and help translate your application into a manufacturable spring.

Do you already have a fully detailed drawing? Then we can specifically evaluate the production possibilities. If you only have a sample spring or a technical challenge, we are also happy to help you. Feel free to contact one of our specialists with no obligation.

Frequently Asked Questions about custom springs

Do you have a specific question that is not answered here? Please feel free to contact us; our team will be happy to assist you!

Yes, absolutely. While a technical drawing helps us evaluate and manufacture a spring, it is not always required for the initial inquiry. You can also provide an existing spring, a photograph, a sketch, or a description of the application. The more information available regarding its function, dimensions, and load capacity, the more tailored our advice can be.

Important data includes the type of spring, available space, required force, spring travel, load, and operating environment. The preferred material, quantity, and any attachments are also relevant. Are some details still unknown? We can work together to determine which information is required. Complete the custom check here.

An existing spring can be used as a starting point. In addition to the dimensions of the sample, we would also like to receive information about its operation and load. This allows us to assess whether the existing design should be replicated or if it can be technically improved.

Depending on the design, a spring can be made stronger, weaker, longer, shorter, or otherwise customized. Adjustments to factors such as the wire thickness, diameter, length, number of coils, or material will affect its operation. Therefore, we always evaluate the complete application and the desired lifespan.

Commonly used materials include spring steel and stainless spring steel. For specific or demanding applications, special materials such as titanium, Inconel, and Hastelloy are also available. The right choice depends on the force, temperature, corrosive environment, and overall conditions in which the spring will be operated.

Custom springs can be developed for prototypes, small batches, and larger production runs. Please indicate in your inquiry how many pieces you require and whether a follow-up series is likely after testing.
